So, it is Earth Day. The one day that many people actually think about recycling or eating organic food. I love that we have a day to celebrate this but, I also feel frustrated that many people don't think about the earth on any day except today. My children did not learn anything at school today about it being Earth Day. Can you believe that?! I live in the beautiful state of Colorado and there was no mention of what should be one of the most important topics around right now. We are destroying our planet and the living species that inhabit it but, everyone is too busy to deal with it right now...
I took my children to an Earth Day event in town and they made bird feeders out of pinecones and planted wildflowers in little dixie cups and made artwork from different colors of seeds. All very fun for them but, the overall turnout for the event was minimal. When are we going to get it?!
